Technical Project Manager

The  IT  Project Manager will  plan and manage intermediate to complex projects while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets. This includes determining resource requirements and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants. Working with stakeholders and Project Sponsors the IT Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.  Only local candidates in the Greater Philadelphia area will be considered.

Responsibilities

 

  • Work on multiple, simultaneous initiatives of which he/ she will apply applicable business and technical acumen
  • Initiation, planning, execution, control, tracking/ reporting and closure of a project or sub projects from an overall and day-to-day perspective
  • Project management in a matrix team environment
  • Collaborate with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure timely execution.
  • Defining project scope, deliverables, schedules, budgets and tasks list
  • Estimating duration and resource requirements
  • Developing detailed project plans including resource plans
  • Working with functional and resource managers to acquire needed resources
  • Tracking/managing projects from initiation to successful completion
  • Identifying and escalating issues
  • Communicating project status
  • Resolving project issues, problems, and changes
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels and across organizational lines, including the business units

 

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree (Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience, with an Application Development or Technical Project Management background
  • Project Management Institutes’ (PMI) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Project Management Methodology and Tools (e.g. MS Project, Visio, Agile, SDLC etc.) with a strong knowledge of Project Management Disciplines
  • Strong understanding of emerging business solutions, technologies, and delivery methodologies
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to direct and influence technical professionals
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to build constructive business relationships with senior business stakeholders and gain their trust
  •  Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively within a matrix, 'virtual' environment
  • Solid communication skills
