Trellist Foundations

Without sound foundations a company can’t follow its business model with any consistency or focus. Implementing that model will only work when each person understands and embraces the foundations, the right talent is recruited, business processes are defined and leaders are instilling the foundation beliefs.

Trellist is based on four foundations: a unique and defining philosophy, culture, operation and structure. Our foundations enable us to approach problems very differently. They give us the means to run an innovative operational model with complementary services, structured to be flexible and executed by self-managed entrepreneurial teams. PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy at Trellist is based on an internal structure with disciplined processes that have proven to deliver results for our clients. However, our structure is remarkably flexible to adapt to client needs and market changes. We call this "structured flexibility." With well-defined internal models and processes, our staff is extremely flexible and efficient.

To make the most of our wide range of services and create value for our clients requires judgment and balance. We bring together concepts seemingly at odds to deliver solutions which blend marketing and technology, design and development as well as theoretical and practical applications, speed and reliability, and innovation and expertise.

Trellistees are analytical thinkers with marketing, design or technology skills. They are self-managed, practical people who rely on evidence and common sense, and they work together to build strategies with our clients as "partners." The Trellist culture requires that a person care about the business and the success of our clients.

Trellist operates as a matrix-based organization. In this efficient environment we can quickly produce highly creative concepts in consulting and strategy engagements as well as tactical development projects. Our highly practiced people think strategically and act tactically, and they have sizable skill sets. This allows us to eliminate potential inefficiencies with flexible planning. We often compete and win against overseas production shops.

STRUCTURE

that focuses on the client and rewards the right things

Finally, Trellist is structured very differently. We are a flat organization with an on-demand hierarchy. A Partner or an Associate can join Trellist like lawyers join law firms. Partners are rewarded for performance and an associate can earn the position of Partner. This allows Trellist to attract and reward the best talent at all levels.

As we move toward becoming an employee-owned firm, we require that all members of the client team take personal accountability for their work. We will reward everyone who truly cares about client and team success with equity in the firm. This motivates and enables each person to serve the needs of the client, regardless of position or role.
